Yes Sara Evan's single is terrific It's on the Country Soundtrack album too. I think that project is likely to be one of the best of 2011. I only hope the rest of Sara's material is of that standard.
Sarah Darling – NEW SINGLE "Something To Do With Your Hands" will be released Feb 22

A "stroke" of genius releasing this as the Single ? :P
Well it starts off with the words - Your the “hardest” working man in this town. She goes on to say “Boy, You better not be tired when you get home tonight, please understand” / “Blow out the candles when you walk in the door. Just drop your coat and keys on the floor, Cos’ I’ve cooking up something so fine , And I just might be wearing something you like’

Yes a commercial sounding sexy pop/country track. Steamy video in the offering I wonder ? Well yes there is a video in the works on the set of “Something To Do With Your Hands,” Sarah Darling gets it together with TNA World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion, AJ Styles. He gets his hands on her it seems.

Jude Johnstone Quiet Girl Release Date: 15 Feb 2011.
Radio have started playing this album its a Americana / Folk-Rock release. Who is Jude you might well ask, well back in 2008 I didn't know who she was either.
I heard the BBC play 'Cry Wolf' by Jude. I've loved Stevie Nicks singing this for years - it turns out Jude wrote it.
Then heard Emmylou Harris new album at the time and Jude had a song on it called 'Hold On' which is great. Then read about her in Maverick, sampled her music on CD Baby, was suitably impressed bought CD's - http://cdbaby.com/cd/johnstone2

Jude is a great songwriter indeed with an impressive list of artists who have covered her songs:
Stevie Nicks (Cry Wolf), Bette Midler(The Girl in Onto You) , Trisha Yearwood(The Nightingale, Hearts in Armor), and Johnny Cash (including the title cut of the latter's Grammy-winning album "Unchained", Jennifer Warnes, Bonnie Raitt (Wounded Heart) and Emmylou Harris(Hold On) - I absolutely LOVE those Trisha Yearwood songs. Always a great writer behind them !
I passed up Jude's last album as it was a jazz project. This new one Quiet Girl, will be her 5th album.
It has appearances by Emmylou Harris, John David Souther and Jimmy LaFave. Jude is based on the central coast of California.
Ideal music too chill out to late at night. Worth a test drive.

New album from Texas based singer songwriter Hayes Carll is due to be released imminently. Titled KMAG YOYO and a follow up to 2008's Trouble in Mind, Hayes is defintely worth listening to if you like your country Texas style.

A favourite of Bob Harris, Hayes has visited this country a couple of times and hopefully will return to promote this album.

Catching Up With Sara Evans – 10 Feb 2011
Interview with Sara - LINK
CMT News - February 7, 2011
Sara Evans has recorded a bluegrass version of her No. 1 hit, "Born to Fly," for her upcoming album, Stronger. Evans co-wrote the song with Marcus Hummon and Darrell Scott, who both lend their background vocals to the new track.

The current single 'A Little Bit Stronger' went to number 22 on the charts, and already sold 350,000 singles !
Compared with her previous albums she says:
In style, it’s very similar. I definitely have things that I prefer over other things. I love big electric guitar solos. I love fiddle. I love to have a few songs that are just incredibly country. I always try to get a song on each album that I wrote with Marcus Hummon because he brings his own sound. So it’s a lot like my other albums in that aspect, but there are some topics that I’ve never sang about.
About the Songs she says:
I wrote several songs with my brother Matt Evans, and Nathan Chapman. I wrote a song called “Ticket to Ride” with Leslie Satcher - Good Girl ! :)
I wrote a song called “Wildfire” with Kara DioGuardi - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kara_DioGuardi , and Matt (my brother), and Marti Frederiksen.
I can’t wait for everybody to hear the whole thing, but there are a couple songs that I’m really excited about. I redid an old Rod Stewart song called “My Heart Can’t Tell You No,” and I’m hoping that that’s gonna be a single.
And then there’s a song called “What That Drink Cost Me,” and it’s about a woman who loses her husband in a drunk driving accident. He was actually driving drunk. The song speaks about his alcohol abuse, so it’s very sad "

Teea Goans (pronounced TEE-uh GO-uhnz)
Not a brand new album but released year. Last Sunday a local country programme made THE WAY I REMEMBER IT their featured album. It was the first I’d heard of her and was impressed by her vocal. Then on Monday I watched a feature on Teea on ‘Inside Music Row’ on Showcase TV ( FreeSat 403) - Anyone see that :?: If not Click Youtube Video Link

Unlike me long-time country fans will be familiar with the songs on this album. I admit to knowing only a couple. I found it refreshing to hear a solid country sound once more in this country/pop/rock – Yes country music does still exist! I found it enjoyable to hear a young voice giving material like this a new lease of life.
This is the kind of country music that traditionalists will be falling over themselves to embrace" said editor Alan Cackett in January's UK publication Maverick MagazineMagazine Download LinkCD Review Link

My favourite track is probably “Lying In My Arms,” which I read was a very minor hit for Rex Allen Jr in 1970.
I also love the beautiful bookend track called ‘Letter From God’ written by Rob Crosby and Angela Kaset (Something in Red / Lorrie Morgan)
The first thing Teea worked for was The Ray Price show at the Ryman Auditorium in 2006. Then the Opry warm-up show, needed somebody to book the show and run talent and she landed the job and worked backstage. This led to station WSM asking her to host show Inside The Opry Circle from a fan’s perspective.

Blurb - If Hank Williams and his mentor, Fred Rose, came back to life in top form, they could not have crafted a more soulful array of songs than singer Teea Goans presents here in her debut album, The Way I Remember It. Goans’ sweetly plaintive voice comes at you like a beam of light through utter darkness. She doesn’t simply sing country music; she delivers its very essence. Goans, producer Terry Choate and associate producer Joe Spivey spent more than a year selecting the 11 songs on this album.
Naturally, they turned to the master composers, most of whom are members of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Teea cites Ray Price as an influence and his 1961 Top 10 hit ‘I’m Still Not Over You' is the album’s opening cut

Have you heard Teea's music before , any thoughts :?: Do you think UK country radio will like her :?:
What do you think to her take on the songs on this album :?: Refreshing to hear country "the way we remember it" don’t you think :?:
