Corb Lund was born in Taber, Alberta, in 1969, and grew up on his family's farm and ranches near Taber, Cardston and Rosemary. The band released two albums, Modern Pain in 1995 and Unforgiving Mistress in 1999, before changing its name to Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans in 2005, when guitarist Grant Siemens joined the group. The current lineup also includes bassist Sean Burns and drummer Brady Valgardson.
Lund and his band have released nine albums to date, three of which are certified gold in Canada: Five Dollar Bill (2002), Hair in My Eyes Like a Highland Steer (2005) and Cabin Fever (2012). His music blends traditional country, roots, folk, bluegrass, rockabilly and Western styles, with lyrics that often reflect his rural upbringing, his love of history and his sense of humor. Some of his most popular songs include "The Truck Got Stuck", "Roughest Neck Around", "Horse Soldier, Horse Soldier", "The Truth Comes Out" and "S Lazy H". He has also collaborated with other artists, such as Ian Tyson, Hayes Carll, Miranda Lambert, Jason Isbell and Jaida Dreyer.
