Podge Lane is an Irish alt-country artist celebrated for his intimate lyricism, melded with experimental country instrumentation. With a broad catalogue of raw concept records and energetic live albums, Podge embraces his country and folk leanings, with a uniquely droll and vulnerable edge.

A serious one to watch’ Hot Press.

Following on from his sophomore album, Common Country Misconceptions, released earlier in 2023, Lane returns, clad in winter layers, delivering an ode to colder days with his double A-side release, ‘Snow / Hailstone’ on November 17th via Teip Records.

Yielding his beloved alt-country melodic phrasing to contrast the promise and hopelessness of the winter months. ‘Snow’ embraces tuneful, country balladry gently complimented by the plucked heartstrings of the banjo, while ‘Hailstones’ ferments jangling, metallic rhythms on the resonator guitar, trudging through each hit of the freezing drops.

'It's an emotive experience crafted by an artist who continues to redefine the alt-country genre,' The Grateful Web.

Having released his debut album, Outer Monologues, in 2021, Lane has set off on multiple solo tours of Ireland and the UK, performed at the inaugural ‘You Roots Are Showing' showcase, and supported high profile acts such as The Wedding Present, Rachael Sage, Florence Dore, Steve'N'Seagulls, Damsel, Charlie Parr and Vieux Farka Touré.

Rounding off his successful Irish and UK ‘Common Country Tour 2023’, Lane’s double release for ‘Snow / Hailstone’ builds for great anticipation of what's to come from Podge Lane in 2024.
