The song was written in 1975 by Steve Weisberg for the legendary John Denver. It’s been covered over a dozen times since then. Drawing inspiration from the legendary John Denver and her own coastal roots, Bailey’s new release of this classic brings a fresh, youthful feel to the track.

In an interview with, Bailey said: “I think my love of John Denver’s music comes from my Grandad, we would spend hours together listening to his old records, so recording “Christmas for Cowboys” felt like a trip down memory lane.
I like that this is a bit of an under-appreciated song really, it never broke the top 50 in the US and didn’t even chart in the UK, so not that many people know it, and seeing as we all get a bit fed up of hearing the same songs every Christmas, a new/old Christmas classic felt like the ideal present”

This appears to be a view shared by many in the UK, as just one day after the single’s release, it had already reached number 10 in the UK Itunes Pop charts. Commenting in a social media post, Bailey said: “Thank youuu ✨🕯️ can’t believe we’re at no.10 on the iTunes pop charts next to @oliviarodrigo & @taylorswift lol & we’re independent <3”

Christmas For Cowboys, which is available on all streaming platforms, has already received rave reviews from fans and critics alike, who praised Bailey’s originality and talent. Bailey, who has topped the iTunes video chart with her single “Astronaut” said she was overwhelmed by the positive response. “I’m so happy that people are enjoying the song and that it’s bringing them some joy and comfort. That’s all I ever wanted to do with my music.”
