BCMA Awards – Winners 2023

The British Country Music Association (BCMA) celebrated the best of UK country music at its annual awards ceremony on February 11, 2024. The event, held the Cavern Club, Liverpool, featured performances by some of the most talented and popular artists in the genre, as well as the presentation of 14 awards in various categories. The big winner of the night was Kezia Gill who walked away with 3 awards. She won UK Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year for “Whisky over Ice” and Entertainer of the Year.

Jade Helliwell: “Woman

The prestigous BCMA Album of the Year Award was won by Jade Helliwell for “Woman“, her 5 track EP released in October 2022. In each of the tracks, Jade takes a look at a different kind of woman. Inspired by women she has met, women she aspires to be like, the woman she has been, is now and hopes to become in the future, she highlights vulnerability, to self-empowerment, to celebration.

Other notable winners included Matt Hodges, who won UK Male Artist of the Year, Luke Thomas, who won UK Musician of the Year, and Lainey Wilson, who won International Single of the Year for “Watermelon Moonshine” as was as International Album of the Year for “Bell Bottom Country”. The BCMA Awards, which have been running since 1971, aim to showcase and reward the excellence and diversity of UK country music, as well as to promote its growth and development in the UK and beyond.
