The UK’s vibrant country music scene is set to make a splash at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with the all-female trio, Remember Monday, flying the flag. Comprised of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steele, the band gained national attention through their participation in the TV singing competition The Voice in 2019. They’ve since performed at major festivals such as BST Hyde Park, Country to Country, The Long Road, and Buckle and Boots.

The song they will be performing is “What The Hell Just Happened“, very much a classic Eurovision entry, upbeat, poppy and with a catchy chorus.
“‘What The Hell Just Happened’ is exactly how we’re feeling right now! It’s all very surreal; our friendship goes so far back, and we definitely never imagined that we’d be doing anything like this,” said Remember Monday. “We’re going to be the first girlband to represent for the UK since 1999, which feels like such a crazy honour. We’re going to bring loads of fun, energy and hopefully do something that you won’t have seen before on the Eurovision stage…. This is really the music World Cup and we’ll do our best to bring it home!”
The 69th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Basel, Switzerland, following Nemo’s victory at the Grand Final in May 2024 with their song “The Code.” Reflecting on last year, the UK was represented by the renowned artist Olly Alexander with the song “Dizzy,” which secured the 18th spot in the grand final with 46 points. Notably, the country received 0 points from the televote for yet another year.
