“Parkinson’s is One of the Loneliest Experiences in the World”
The latest project from Kindred Spirit, titled Think Loud 4 Parkinson’s, brings together a host of iconic British musicians to support the Cure Parkinson’s charity. The album, set to release on February 14, 2025, includes performances from members of Dire Straits, Queen, The Waterboys, and punk poet John Cooper Clarke.

One of the album’s highlights is Leo Sayer’s reimagined R&B version of The Beatles’ classic, “Eleanor Rigby,” which Sayer describes as resonating deeply with the loneliness often experienced by those living with Parkinson’s disease. Sayer reflects, “‘Ah, look at all the lonely people.’ Well, people who are going through Parkinson’s will tell you it can be one of the loneliest experiences in the world.”
The Waterboys -“Soul City”

The compilation also features a previously unreleased track from The Waterboys titled “Soul City,” coinciding with their collaborative album project with Bruce Springsteen and Fiona Apple. Legendary guitarist Hank Marvin contributes a unique version of the instrumental “Let There Be Drums,” adding to the album’s star-studded lineup.
Pete Townshend of The Who Speaks Out on Illness Suffered by Family and Friends
Pete Townshend and The Who have shown their support with a £20,000 donation from their Double O Charity. Townshend speaks candidly about his personal connection to the cause, sharing, “My interest in Parkinson’s arose because my beloved father-in-law Edwin Astley, composer, died in great distress of Progressive supranuclear palsy which is loosely related to Parkinson’s. Then, a very close friend, James Morgan, another composer, revealed he has Parkinson’s. Since then I have tried to help raise awareness around this awful illness.”
Think Loud – Leo Sayer
The album’s first single, “Think Loud,” was released in 2024, featuring lead vocals by Leo Sayer and a heart-warming video starring notable figures such as Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols, Blondie’s Clem Burke, and football legend Stuart Pearce.
The project, driven by esteemed manager Ian Grant, who has lived with Parkinson’s disease for nine years, along with music producer Paul Mitchell and others, has been a labor of love. Grant’s determination to bring this project to life, despite the challenges, has resulted in a powerful collection of music aimed at raising awareness and funds for Cure Parkinson’s.
Think Loud 4 Parkinson’s promises to be a musical journey filled with soul, rock, and heartfelt performances, making it a must-listen for both music enthusiasts and supporters of the cause.
