The tents may be coming down across much of the UK and another packed summer of country music may be drawing to a close, but there is still time for one last festival weekend in 2026.
Rockin’ The Country returns to Horse Creek Farm in March, Cambridgeshire, on 11–12 September, offering country fans a final opportunity to pull on their boots, spend a weekend surrounded by live music and immerse themselves in a festival atmosphere before the outdoor season gives way to autumn tours and indoor shows.
After a summer that has taken fans from C2C through a growing collection of independent festivals and on to The Long Road and last weekend’s British Country Music Festival in Blackpool, Rockin’ The Country provides a suitably distinctive finale. This isn’t simply a field with a stage: the festival combines British country music with rodeo, western riding, line dancing, horses, American vehicles and the wider culture surrounding the music.
A festival with a Wild West difference
Held at Horse Creek Farm, home of Sovereign Quarter Horses, Rockin’ The Country has one considerable advantage when it comes to creating its atmosphere: the western setting is already part of the venue.
Alongside two stages of live country music, Saturday’s programme includes rodeo sports and western riding, with line dancing providing another opportunity for festivalgoers to become part of the action rather than simply watching from the sidelines. There are also fairground attractions, inflatables, western shopping and food and drink across the site.
That makes Rockin’ The Country a rather different proposition from many of the UK’s country festivals. It leans wholeheartedly into the lifestyle surrounding the music, creating something closer to a slice of the American West transported into the Cambridgeshire countryside.
First Time Flyers lead a strong British line-up
Music remains at the centre of the weekend, with First Time Flyers heading the Saturday bill.
The four-piece have become one of the most recognisable names on the UK country scene, and their appearance provides an appropriately homegrown headline for a festival placing British country talent firmly in the spotlight.
They are joined across the weekend by a line-up including Chloë Chadwick Band, Andrew Jones and The Barn, Tom Hodge, Luke Flear, Eric & Jensen and The Hayride Wranglers. The SQH Saloon adds another strand of live music, with Gary Quinn, Ryan Evans and Chloe Loader, while Rattlesnake Johnny keeps the celebrations going at the official after-party.
For weekend ticket holders, the experience starts on Friday with food, live bands and a country DJ before the main festival programme gets underway from 9am on Saturday.
One last chance to make a weekend of it
Camping, caravan, campervan and motorhome options mean there is still the opportunity to turn Rockin’ The Country into a proper end-of-summer festival weekend. Those who don’t fancy sleeping under canvas can opt for Saturday admission instead, with under-14s receiving free day entry when accompanied by an adult.
Anyone tempted to make a late decision may not want to leave it too long. The festival’s ticket page currently lists Tier 3 as sold out and Tier 4 tickets as running low, with some individual ticket categories already sold out.

It has been another busy year for UK country festivals, from huge international bills to intimate independent gatherings showcasing homegrown performers. Rockin’ The Country offers one final opportunity to enjoy that particular combination of live music, outdoor atmosphere and country community before festival season is packed away for another year.
And if your idea of ending the summer involves country bands, cowboy boots, line dancing, Quarter Horses and a little rodeo action, Cambridgeshire might just be the place to do it.
