There’s something magical about country music echoing across the fells, and this summer, that magic returns to Muncaster. From Friday 17 to Sunday 19 July 2026, the historic castle opens its gates for Country By The Castle—a weekend where twang meets tradition, and the spirit of Nashville finds a home in the heart of Cumbria.

The Setting
Imagine the rolling Lake District hills as your backdrop, the grandeur of Muncaster Castle at your side, and the sound of guitars, fiddles, and harmonies filling the air. It’s a festival that blends the beauty of the landscape with the energy of the UK’s thriving country scene.

The Music
Country By The Castle 2026 delivers a line up that celebrates the depth and diversity of the UK country scene, bringing together standout voices and rising talent for a full day of live music in a spectacular setting. Katy Hurt, Emilia Quinn and Outpost Drive lead the bill with the kind of powerhouse performances that anchor a festival, while Paul Armer & The Dawn Chorus, Neeve Zahra, Amy Jo, Mountain Ash and Connor Banks add a rich mix of songwriting, harmony and modern Americana energy. The day continues with fresh, exciting sets from Zoe Unsworth, Tom Hodge, Susannah Clegg, Brandon Ridley, Tony Beacock and Sophie Rose, before Jackson Ward and Sugarfoot bring a dose of rootsy, full‑band swagger. With Sean Keefe and Grace Price rounding out the programme, it’s a line up built for discovery, connection and those unforgettable summer moments that make this event such a highlight for UK country fans.
