Country Roads brings a stellar night of live country music to Acanteen – 11 June 2026

Country Roads marks its first anniversary at Acanteen with a special summer showcase that brings together some of the most exciting voices on the UK and international country scene. On Thursday 11 June, the Chelmsford favourite hosts a trio of standout acts, each bringing their own flavour of storytelling, harmony and heart.

Headlining the night is Brighton’s Gina Larner, performing as a duo and riding a wave of acclaim from across the UK scene. Described as “phenomenal” by Overtone Magazine and praised for her “firebrand fusion of rock and pop” by The Bristol Gig Guide, Gina blends the spirit of Debbie Harry, the theatrical edge of Kate Bush and the raw honesty of Alanis Morissette. Her powerful vocals and sharp, emotionally charged songwriting have marked her as one of the country’s most compelling rising performers. Expect a set that’s bold, dynamic and impossible to ignore.

Special guests April Moon bring a burst of Canadian charm and road‑tested energy. Jaime April and Jason Moon’s intertwined guitars, suitcase kick drum and soaring harmonies create a sound that’s both rootsy and irresistibly fun. Raised on the prairies of the North Saskatchewan River and now touring the world from their beloved campervan “The Clubhouse”, the duo deliver boot‑stompin’ tunes with warmth, wit and wanderer’s spirit.

Opening the evening is El‑RY BLUE, a duo made up of Noel Gander on guitar and vocals and Gary Choules on double bass, percussion and harmonies. Their mix of originals and carefully chosen covers promises to “chill your spirit and rattle your bones” in all the right ways – a captivating start to a night built on craft, chemistry and great songs.

Also joining the bill are Roisin O’Hagan and Ruby Lily, two rising UK voices bringing fresh songwriting and bright, melodic energy to the Acanteen stage. Roisin’s heartfelt, hook‑laden storytelling has earned her a loyal following and a reputation as one of the scene’s most exciting young artists. Ruby Lily adds her own vibrant spark, pairing warm vocals with an instinctive feel for modern country pop. Together, they round out a beautifully balanced lineup that showcases the breadth of emerging talent on the UK circuit.

With three distinctive acts and Acanteen’s intimate atmosphere, this is set to be a standout date in Essex’s summer country calendar.
