Born in Nashville, raised in New York City, and now heading for a three‑week Off West End run, Oil & Whiskey brings its country‑rock heart to London following its international debut at the Edinburgh Fringe. Fresh from winning the “SOLD OUT” Award at the 2025 NYC Fringe Festival, this toe‑stomping musical lands at the Old Red Lion with all the grit, charm and honky‑tonk swagger that’s been turning heads across the Atlantic.

At its core, Oil & Whiskey is a sharply drawn dramedy: two ex‑lovers meet for a drink and end up reliving their entire relationship over a couple of rounds of whiskey. It’s funny, bruising, melodic and painfully relatable – the kind of show that reminds you exactly why you don’t text your ex. Think The Last Five Years with a Nashville kick, wrapped in the energy of a live country cabaret.

The musical is the debut creation of Kit Nolan, a Nashville multi‑instrumentalist whose touring credits include Lindsey Stirling, Robbie Williams and One Direction. His score leans into the storytelling traditions of country music – honky‑tonk heartbreak, bluegrass lift, and the emotional punch of a songwriter who knows how to land a line. He’s joined by playwright Dax Wiley, whose work spans immersive musicals, LA theatre row dramas and songwriting for Nashville radio. Together, they’ve built a show that sits at the forefront of the Americana wave sweeping both Edinburgh and NYC.

Following its Fringe engagement, Oil & Whiskey arrives in London for a limited Off West End run at the Old Red Lion Pub Theatre – bringing its country‑rock fireball to one of the capital’s most intimate and characterful stages.
