Write Like A Girl at 21 Soho Below in London presents an intimate evening celebrating women in music, headlined by UK singer-songwriters Beth Keeping, Francesca Morris and Vic Allen. This one-off concert offers a unique opportunity to experience compelling storytelling through the lens of contemporary country-infused songwriting.

Beth Keeping is known for blending the emotional storytelling of country music with the melodic charm of contemporary pop. Raised in Surrey and now based in London, her artistic journey took her from writing songs internationally to recording her debut EP Fool in Nashville, a city synonymous with rich country heritage. Beth’s songs explore real-life themes such as heartbreak, travel, and self-discovery, all delivered with a voice that balances tenderness and empowerment. Her 2024 single Cool Kids continues her tradition of addressing meaningful subjects like bullying and self-worth, combining the sincerity of country storytelling with modern production values.

Vic Allen, hailing from Norwich, brings her own unique voice to the evening. Her music melds acoustic-driven sounds with modern country influences, shaped partly by her experience working on a ranch in the United States. As a rising star in the UK country scene, Vic has earned recognition through BBC Introducing stages and notable venues, crafting songs that resonate deeply with her audience. Her latest single, Mexico, exemplifies her blend of contemporary pop energy and narrative songwriting.

Beth Keeping shared with fans: “I’m so happy to be hosting another of these special shows with @talentbanq – if you haven’t experienced a WLAG show before I really think you’ll love it!! You get to hear songs played in their stripped back form and learn the stories behind them.”

Francesca Morris is a London based singer-songwriter, originally from Brighton, who has been writing and performing her own music from the age of 12. Taking inspiration from artists such as Lizzy McAlpine, Joni Mitchell, Sara Bareilles and Maggie Rogers, her plain speaking, honest and emotional lyrics stem from her passion for telling stories through music. Her new EP ‘Who I’m Missing’ which she made largely with collaborators in Nashville, is set to be released next year.

The “Write Like A Girl” initiative, founded by Beth Keeping, champions female songwriters by showcasing their talents through sell-out writers’ rounds and UK tours from 2018 to 2023. This event continues that spirit, inviting the audience to engage closely with the stories behind the songs.
