London-based singer-songwriter Brooke Law is carving out a fresh path in the UK country scene. Equally at home belting out powerhouse choruses or weaving soulful ballads, she brings a bold blend of country, pop and soul to every stage – from Black Deer’s rustic woodland stages to The Long Road’s sunlit festival lawns.
A Musical Melting Pot
Brooke’s sound is defined by her passion for raw, live energy. “I love rock music and rocking out with my band,” she says. “That gutsiness shows up in my writing.” While her melodies nod to Nashville traditions, the big, sing-along choruses wear her own stamp—anthemic hooks designed for laughter, tears or a collective scream under a summer sky.
Forging Songs from Life
Behind each track lies a personal story. Brooke describes her songwriting as a journey from concept to catharsis:
“I usually have an idea or concept I want to write about. Then we build the melody and top line together before working out the chords. I’m always aiming for a really big chorus—a sing-along bit where people can cry or laugh or scream.”
Her nursery-inspired anthem “Boomerang” sprang from her day job: “I work at a preschool, and that song was inspired by one of the kids—how much you can love them, even if they’d rather play with a dinosaur than hug you!”
Co-writing has been pivotal too. Her early track “Millionaires”—penned with a friend at eighteen—celebrates the wealth of companionship over material gain: “We were dreaming of being millionaires, but it turned into a song about not needing money, just the people you love.”
Empowerment at the Core
Brooke doesn’t shy away from weighty themes. Her recent single “Big World” tackles social-media pressures and the struggle for self-acceptance. “So many mums have told me they can’t wait to show it to their little girls,” she smiles. “It’s about how we all have to grow up and fight every day—because the world is amazing, but it can feel really big and hard.”
She’s carrying that thread of authenticity into her debut album. “My track ‘Real’ is about how fake the world feels—AI, social media, everything artificial. I realised most of my songs circle around ‘real, not fake’.” With a stash of heartfelt tracks still to select from, the album is slated to land this Autumn, accompanied by a UK tour.
Stages Big and Small
From intimate Camden pub shows at Sir Richard Steele’s—“my second home”—to festival headliners, Brooke savours every setting. “There’s something magical about playing in the sun with the sky above you,” she says about festivals – and she’s landed on some of the UK’s biggest stages—C2C Festival at The O2 Arena, The Great Escape, Black Deer, Buckle & Boots, Isle of Wight, The Long Road, American Speedfest and Big Feastival—each one bringing its own surge of energy.
Looking Ahead
As the UK country scene continues its meteoric rise, Brooke believes the real strength lies in its growing sense of community. “It’s amazing that we’re all building this community together and all the country artists kind of know each other now,” she says. Brooke sees collaboration as key. She’s already cooking up a possible album cut with close friend and co-writer Savannah Gardner (“Cowboy Hat”), and dreams of teaming with US genre-bender Breland. “The more fusion we have, the bigger our scene grows—and the more people we bring together.”
Her advice to new artists? “Stay true to yourself. Don’t let social media beat you up. You never know what someone’s really feeling, so focus on your own journey and reach out to others—this community only gets stronger when we lift each other up.”
