Baskery
Alt-Country Band
Baskery is a Swedish alternative country band formed in 2007 by three sisters: Greta, Stella, and Sunniva Bondesson. The band originated as an offshoot of their father's one-man band, The Slaptones, and quickly gained recognition for their unique blend of Americana, folk rock, and punk influences. Their music is characterized by energetic performances and a DIY ethos, which has earned them a dedicated fan base worldwide.
Their debut album, "Fall Among Thieves" (2008), was recorded with producer Lasse Mårtén and showcased their raw, unfiltered sound. They followed up with "New Friends" (2011), which they referred to as their "gypsy album" due to its recording in various locations on the road. Their third album, "Little Wild Life" (2013), was recorded in Berlin and produced by Matt Wignall, further solidifying their reputation as a dynamic live act.
Baskery's latest album, "V: End of the Bloodline," was released on October 27, 2023. Recorded at Middle Farm Studios in Devon, UK, with producer Sean Lakeman, the album features 12 tracks that showcase the band's signature blend of Americana, folk rock, and punk influences. The album includes songs like "Wolf Hook," "A Little Goes A Long Way," and "Come To Terms," highlighting the sisters' songwriting and musical versatility.
Baskery has also toured extensively, performing at major festivals such as Glastonbury, SXSW, and Bonnaroo, and sharing the stage with artists like Robbie Williams and Gary Clark Jr. Their relentless touring and independent spirit have made them one of the most notable live acts in the alternative country scene. With six studio albums to their name, Baskery continues to captivate audiences with their unique sound and spirited performances.
