Bella White
Singer-Songwriter
Bella White, born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is a talented Canadian-American singer, songwriter, and musician. From a young age, Bella was immersed in bluegrass, old-time, Appalachian, and country music, thanks to her father, a traditional musician from Virginia. She picked up the guitar at age eight and soon learned to play the banjo, setting the stage for her future career in music.
Bella began performing at family gatherings and open mic sessions at age 13. After graduating high school in 2018, she performed at small venues and regional festivals in Alberta and British Columbia. In 2020, Bella released her debut album, "Just Like Leaving," which was produced by Patrick M’Gonigle of The Lonely Heartstring Band and self-released. The album received critical acclaim, and Bella was signed by Rounder Records in 2021.
Her musical style combines elements of bluegrass, country, folk, and Americana, and she has continued to evolve as an artist. Bella's second album, "Among Other Things," produced by Jonathan Wilson, showcases her ability to explore complex themes such as searching for purpose and the resilience of the human heart. With her captivating voice and deeply affecting songwriting, Bella White has established herself as one of the most promising up-and-coming artists in the country music scene.
