Belle Roscoe

Belle Roscoe

Belle Roscoe is an independent Americana band led by Australian siblings Matty and Julia Gurry. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, the duo formed the band in 2009, initially including Julia’s identical twin sister, Sarah. Over the years, Belle Roscoe has carved out a unique niche in the music industry with their distinctive blend of 70s folk/rock influences and modern sensibilities. Their music is characterized by rich harmonies, evocative lyrics, and a sound that draws comparisons to Fleetwood Mac, though the siblings maintain a harmonious relationship devoid of any infamous band tensions.

The Gurry siblings are known for their rebellious approach to the music industry, often choosing to release music on their own terms and embracing a DIY ethic. They have no formal musical training, yet their raw talent and passion shine through in their performances and recordings. Belle Roscoe’s music often reflects their political views and personal experiences, with songs that tackle themes such as climate change and social justice. Their latest single, “The Birds,” was inspired by their time in Cuba and addresses the global climate crisis.

Currently based in London, Belle Roscoe continues to tour internationally, captivating audiences with their dynamic live shows. They have worked with renowned producers like Matt Ross-Spang and have recorded in iconic studios such as The Bomb Shelter in Nashville. Despite their unconventional path, Belle Roscoe has garnered a dedicated following and critical acclaim for their authentic and heartfelt music.
