Brad Paisley is an American country music singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was born on October 28, 1972, in Glen Dale, West Virginia. He started playing guitar at the age of eight and performed in local venues and festivals. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1993 to pursue his musical career and signed with Arista Nashville in 1999.
He released his debut album, Who Needs Pictures, in 1999, which featured his first number one single, "He Didn't Have to Be". Since then, he has released twelve more studio albums and a Christmas compilation, all of which have been certified gold or higher by the RIAA. He has also had 35 top 10 singles on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, 20 of which have reached number one, setting a record for the most consecutive number one singles (10) in 2009. He has won three Grammy Awards, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, 14 Country Music Association Awards, and two American Music Awards.
Brad Paisley’s biggest hit is “Whiskey Lullaby”, a duet with Alison Krauss that was released in 2004. The song reached number two on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it Paisley’s highest-charting single on both charts.
He is known for his stellar guitar work and for his skillfully crafted songs that are often laced with wry humor. He is also an actor and has appeared in movies such as Cars and Cars 3, and TV shows such as The Simpsons and According to Jim. He is married to actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley since 2003 and they have two sons.
