Brad Stuart is a Michigan-born singer-songwriter whose blend of Americana, country and roots music is built on honest storytelling and a voice rich with grit and character. Now based in Nashville, Stuart cites songwriting icons including John Prine, Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne and Jason Isbell among his biggest influences, crafting songs that balance humour, heartache and hope. His warm, gravelly delivery and deeply personal lyrics have earned him a reputation for forging genuine connections with audiences, whether performing in intimate listening rooms or on festival stages.
Before launching his solo career, Stuart developed his craft as a performer, songwriter and collaborator across a variety of musical projects, including hard rock outfit Altered Paradigm and Americana duo Two Lane Bridge. He has recorded with artists including Uncle Kracker, served as music director for The Hymns Project, and toured extensively throughout North America and Europe. A regular performer at Nashville's famed Bluebird Cafe, Stuart has also shared stages with artists including James Otto, Dustin Lynch and Sanctus Real, building a reputation as a compelling live performer.
In 2024, Stuart released his acclaimed album 33 Turns & A Needle, produced by Grammy Award winner Randy Kohrs and featuring an impressive cast of Nashville and Detroit musicians. The record combines the soul of his Motown upbringing with the storytelling traditions of Americana, exploring themes of faith, family and resilience. Away from the studio, Stuart is also a passionate advocate for making music more accessible, with his wife Elizabeth performing many of his songs in American Sign Language during videos and live performances, inspired by their youngest daughter, who was born Deaf.
