Colbie Caillat is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who rose to fame through the social networking website Myspace. She was born on May 28, 1985 in Malibu, California, and grew up in Newbury Park, California. Her father, Ken Caillat, co-produced several albums for the legendary band Fleetwood Mac. She began taking vocal lessons and playing the acoustic guitar in her teens, and started posting her songs online in 2006.
