Don Amero is a Canadian country and folk singer-songwriter from Winnipeg, Manitoba, who has been nominated for three Juno Awards and has won several other awards and accolades for his music and advocacy work.

He was born on September 11, 1980 and is of Cree and Métis heritage. He started his career as a hardwood flooring installer, but he always had a passion for music. He unsuccessfully tried out for Canadian Idol in 2006, but he did not give up on his dream. He released his debut CD, Change Your Life, in 2006, and left his flooring job in 2007 to pursue music full-time. He gained recognition and respect in the Canadian music industry and among fans with his engaging storytelling, passionate vocals, and neotraditional country style.

nothing is meaningless

He has released six albums and two EPs to date, each showcasing his evolved songwriting and musical skills. His latest EP, Nothing Is Meaningless, was released in 2021 and features the hit single "You Can't Always Be 21", which he performed on various national TV shows. He also competed as a semi-finalist in the SiriusXM Top of the Country competition in partnership with the CCMA.

Don Amero is not only a talented musician, but also a dedicated advocate for Indigenous communities and causes. He has created the 'Music Is Medicine' workshop, where he presents the impact and power music has mentally and physically.  He is the first ever advisor and Chair of the CCMA Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, where he works to promote diversity and inclusion in the country music industry.

Don Amero is one of the most successful and influential Indigenous country artists in Canada. He has been tirelessly touring, performing, and speaking across Canada for the last decade, earning the respect and attention of the Canadian Music industry and fans alike.
