Eli Young Band is a country music band from Texas, USA, that started in 2000 when four students at the University of North Texas met and began playing music together. The band consists of Mike Eli (lead vocals, guitar), James Young (guitar), Jon Jones (bass guitar), and Chris Thompson (drums).
They have released six studio albums and 16 singles, four of which reached No. 1 on the Billboard country charts. Their most successful single, "Crazy Girl", was the top country song of 2011 and won them an Academy of Country Music Award for Song of the Year. Eli Young Band have also been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Eli Young Band is known for their energetic live shows and their blend of rock and country influences.
The band's first album, Eli Young Band, was released independently in 2002. They followed it with Level in 2005, which was their last Texas country album before signing with Universal South Records. Their third album, Jet Black & Jealous, came out in 2008 and produced three singles: "When It Rains", "Always the Love Songs", and "Radio Waves". The band's breakthrough came with their fourth album, Life at Best, which was released in 2011 by Republic Nashville. The album spawned four singles: "Crazy Girl", "Even If It Breaks Your Heart", "Say Goodnight", and "Drunk Last Night". The first two singles reached No. 1 on the country charts and were certified multi-platinum by the RIAA.
The band's fifth album, 10,000 Towns, was released in 2014 and featured the singles "Dust", "Turn It On", and "Saltwater Gospel". The band's sixth album, Fingerprints, came out in 2017 and included the single "Love Ain't", which also reached No. 1 on the country charts. The band's latest album, Love Talking, was released in 2022 and features the single of the same name.
