ERNEST, born Ernest Keith Smith on January 11, 1992, in Nashville, Tennessee, is an American country music singer-songwriter known for his unique blend of traditional country sounds and modern storytelling. His early influences were diverse, ranging from the hip-hop beats of the Space Jam soundtrack to the lyrical prowess of Eminem, which he discovered through hand-me-down CDs in his youth. Despite a challenging period in his early 20s, which included a heart attack and a battle with addiction, ERNEST's passion for music remained steadfast, leading him back to Nashville to pursue his dreams. After honing his craft and co-writing songs for notable artists like Morgan Wallen, Jake Owen, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, and Chris Lane, ERNEST's songwriting prowess caught the attention of the music industry. His breakthrough came when he signed a recording contract with Big Loud in 2019. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of his ascent in the country music scene, showcasing his ability to weave personal experiences into his songs.
