Fancy Hagood is an American country pop singer and songwriter who was born in Bentonville, Arkansas on March 29, 1991. He taught himself to play piano at age eleven and grew up listening to Christian and country music. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his musical career and adopted the nickname "Fancy" from his co-workers at Forever 21.
Fancy Hagood first gained attention in 2015 with his debut single "Goodbye", which he released under the mysterious moniker "Who Is Fancy". He co-signed with Scooter Braun, Scott Borchetta, and Dr. Luke on Big Machine Label Group and Prescription Songs. He revealed his identity on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and later collaborated with Meghan Trainor and Ariana Grande on his second single "Boys Like You".
In 2021, Fancy Hagood released his debut album, Southern Curiosity, which was nominated for Best Country Record at The Libera Awards 2022. The album showcases his personal stories and struggles as a gay man from the South, as well as his influences from pop, soul, and gospel music. Fancy Hagood is known for his powerful vocals, catchy melodies, and honest lyrics.
