Griffin Brothers
Country Duo
Alex and Ricky Griffin, collectively known as the Griffin Brothers, were born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario, in a family of country musicians. Their musical journey began at a young age, performing on stage by the time they were two. Initially dabbling in pop punk during their high school years, the brothers were drawn back to their country roots in 2018, inspired by the resurgence of the traditional '90s country sound they had grown up with. Influenced by artists like Luke Combs, Zac Brown Band, and Chris Stapleton, they began crafting their own modern country music. The Griffin Brothers are now based in the UK, continuing to evolve their sound and reach new audiences.
Having studied performing and classic arts at Eastwood Collegiate Institute, Alex and Ricky became multi-instrumentalists, with Alex mastering brass, drums, guitar, and piano, and Ricky excelling in timpani, xylophone, snare drum, drum kit, and guitar. Their debut single, "Rust On It," released in 2019, marked the beginning of their rise in the music industry, garnering over 20,000 spins on streaming services and hitting radio stations across Canada. Their summer hit "Beer Happy," released in 2021, continued their success, gaining significant attention and airplay across the country.
Currently, the Griffin Brothers are working on their debut EP, showcasing their blend of classic country and modern influences. Their latest single, "Full Stop," produced by Shawn Moore and featuring notable musicians, is set to be another hit. With their unique sound and dynamic performances, Alex and Ricky Griffin are making a name for themselves in the Canadian country music scene, staying true to their roots while incorporating a wide variety of new influences.
