Johnson & Finnemore
Americana Duo
Hailing from the Midlands, UK country duo Johnson & Finnemore — Stew Johnson and Dan Finnemore — bring decades of musical experience to a partnership forged in pedal steel and storytelling. Their journey began in 2018 with the Swampmeat Family Band’s debut LP Too Many Things to Hide, followed by Muck! (2020) and Polish Your Old Halo (2023), where Dan’s compositions and Stew’s arrangements found a shared emotional depth. With Stew’s pedigree touring globally with The Toy Hearts and even treading the boards in the West End’s Great Balls of Fire, and Dan’s acclaimed tenure with US act Low Cut Connie — earning praise from Barack Obama and Jack White — the duo’s musical DNA is rich, rootsy, and road-tested.
In 2023, while producing a documentary about Stew’s life (The Many Lives of Stewart Johnson, directed by Jez Alsop), Dan and Stew began writing new material as a duo — a creative spark that led to their debut album Find A Love That Brings You Home, released August 29, 2025 via Gulf Coast Records. The record strips things back while elevating their signature blend of Country, Soul, and Rock ‘n’ Roll swagger. From bluesy laments to warm-hearted ballads, it’s a collection that honours their shared history while carving out new sonic territory. Available on Digital, CD, and Vinyl, it’s a release that feels both timeless and timely.

Johnson & Finnemore kicked off their album celebrations with a performance at the renowned Moseley Folk Festival, bringing their lived-in harmonies and magnetic stage presence to a crowd of devoted fans. For listeners drawn to the emotional honesty of Chris Stapleton, the British charm of The Shires, or the genre-bending spirit of Low Cut Connie, this duo offers something rare: country music that’s rooted in experience, shaped by collaboration, and delivered with soul. Find A Love That Brings You Home isn’t just a debut — it’s a homecoming.
