Kane Brown is a country music singer and songwriter who rose to fame through social media. He was born in 1993 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to a white mother and a Black father. He grew up listening to R&B, but switched to country after winning a talent show in high school with a Chris Young song. He started posting covers of country songs online, and gained a large fan base.
Tennessean Kane Brown has developed a knack for smashing country music’s boundaries. He first began attracting attention in 2013 when he auditioned for The X Factor USA, choosing to leave the show after being asked to join a boy band. He then took his career into his own hands and began uploading covers on Facebook, leading to his own song ‘Don’t Go City On Me’ going viral in 2014.
He released his first EP, Closer, in 2015, and followed it with his debut album, Kane Brown, in 2016. His second album, Experiment, came out in 2018, and became his first number one album on the Billboard 200. He has also collaborated with artists like Khalid, Marshmello, and Lauren Alaina. He is known for his catchy and emotional songs, such as "What Ifs", "Heaven", and "Lose It". He has won several awards, including the American Music Award for Favorite Male Country Artist in 2018 and 2019 .
Brown released the single ‘One Mississippi’ in late 2021, followed by ‘Whiskey Sour’ and ‘Like I Love Country Music’ in 2022.
