Last Birds is a country-folk duo hailing from the small Canadian prairie town of North Portal, Saskatchewan. Comprising Mike Davis and Lindsay Arnold, their music is a blend of haunting harmonies and intricate guitar work, steeped in early country folk yet reflective of modern life. In October 2023, Last Birds released their first full-length album, "Endless Turn of Day into Night," which received international attention and praise. The self-produced album, characterized by its simple and direct recordings, showcases the couple's close vocal harmonies. The album was featured on several "Best of" lists, including Americana Highways' Best Albums of 2023, and won the Alternative Country Album of the Year at the 2024 Saskatchewan Country Music Awards. Their debut EP, released in April 2021, was also well-received, reaching #1 on Kansas Public Radio and spending several weeks on the Roots Music Report charts for Top Folk Album and Top Canadian Folk Album.
Mike and Lindsay live in North Portal with their young daughter in a house they built with their own hands. Lindsay, a multi-talented artist, has used painting, drawing, filmmaking, and songwriting to share stories from a female vantage point throughout her 20-year career. Her work has been exhibited and performed throughout Canada and beyond. Together, Mike and Lindsay continue to create music that reflects their deep connection to their roots and their commitment to storytelling through song.
