Country Music Band
Lauren Housley is an award-winning singer and songwriter hailing from Yorkshire, UK. Her love of music started early, with a deep connection to great songs, the craft of storytelling, and an emotive vocal performance. Lauren independently released her debut album Sweet Surrender in 2015, quickly garnering acclaim from fans and fellow musicians. The album's first single, "Ghost Town Blues", hit the BBC Radio 2 playlist, while the track "The Waiting Game" became Robert Elms' favorite track of the year on his BBC Radio London Show. Lauren has performed with inspiring female contemporaries including Yola and Klara Soderberg (First Aid Kit).
In early 2022, Lauren decided to focus on developing her live show and formed The Northern Cowboys, a 6-piece band with key members Thomas Dibb and Mark Lewis. The band rapidly evolved into a recording and performance-led music outfit, with a new sonic departure. Lauren's innate talent for writing beautiful, engaging songs shines through in their music. The band's song "High Time" earned two nominations at the 2024 UK Americana Music Awards (and won one), and they were also nominated for Live Act of the Year. Lauren Housley & The Northern Cowboys played the finale set for the Thirty Tigers Gospel Brunch during AmericanaFest in Nashville, featuring local musicians like Jeff Coffin on sax (Dave Matthews Band) and Andrew Golden on trumpet (Lauren Daigle).
