Megan Moroney is an American country music singer who was born on October 9, 1997 in Savannah, Georgia. She grew up listening to country music and learned to play piano at a young age. She studied digital marketing and music at the University of Georgia, where she also performed as an opening act for artists like Chase Rice and Kristian Bush of Sugarland.
She moved to Nashville in 2020 to pursue her music career and released her debut single "Wonder" in 2021, a song that showcased her honest and heartfelt storytelling. She gained popularity with her second single "Tennessee Orange" in 2022, a catchy and clever love song that featured a cameo from Morgan Wallen's shirt. The song reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and was certified platinum by the RIAA.
She also received attention on social media for her fun and relatable personality. She released her debut album Lucky in 2023, which featured songs co-written and produced by Kristian Bush of Sugarland. The album blended country, folk and Southern rock influences and displayed Moroney's versatility as a singer and songwriter.
She also won the CMT Music Award for Female Breakthrough Video of the Year for "Tennessee Orange" and was nominated for the ACM Award for New Female Artist of the Year.
