Michael Ray Roach, known simply as Michael Ray, was born in Eustis, Florida. Inspired by his grandfather, a professional musician who played for him and taught him how to play guitar, Michael Ray began his musical journey at a young age. After graduating high school, he formed a band in southern Florida and quickly built a loyal fan base.
Michael Ray gained national recognition as the winner of the CW network's reality television vocal competition The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep in 2012. This victory led to a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell and a contract with Warner Music Nashville. His debut single, "Kiss You in the Morning," became a number-one hit on the Country Airplay charts in 2015, and his self-titled album, Michael Ray, was well-received, featuring additional hits like "Think a Little Less" and "Real Men Love Jesus."
Continuing to evolve as an artist, Michael Ray released his second album, Amos, in 2018, which included the Top 20 hit "Get to You." His music blends traditional country sounds with modern influences, creating a vibrant and upbeat contemporary country-rock style.
