Podge Lane is a pun-loving musician who blends folk, indie-rock, and country influences in his original songs. He started his solo career in 2018 with the release of his debut singles, ‘The Dark’ and ‘Move On’, which showcased his honest lyricism and explorative instrumentation. He quickly gained recognition from Echoing STEM as the newcomer of the year and was nominated for the Irish Post Indie Artist Of The Year award.
Since then, Podge Lane has released four EPs, two live albums, and his debut full-length album, ‘Outer Monologues’, in 2021. His music has been praised by IMRO, Hot Press, and other media outlets for its unique and experimental sound, as well as its truthful edge in contemporary country and folk stylings. He has also opened for artists such as Rozi Plain, Kiran Leonard, Crywank, Charlie Parr, and Tootawl, and performed in venues across Ireland and London.
Podge Lane is currently working on his next album, which is set to be released in 2024. He has already released the first single, ‘Paradise’, on August 19th, 2022, which received resounding acclaim from fans and critics alike. Podge Lane continues to tour with new songs of pain, triumph, and self-reflection, while also entertaining his audience with his witty banter and puns. He is an alt-country artist who is not afraid to twist in every direction, sonically and lyrically.
