Rainy Eyes

Americana Singer Songwriter

Rainy Eyes, born Irena Eide, is a Norwegian-born Americana singer-songwriter known for her soulful and heartfelt performances. Raised in Bergen, Norway, she split her time between the urban congestion of the city and her maternal family's sheep farm on the rugged islands of western Norway. Inspired by her guitar-playing uncle and her Serbian musician father, Rainy began performing at a young age and recorded her first demo at 12. After moving to Denmark and then eloping to San Francisco with an American free-jazz saxophonist, she immersed herself in the local music scene, teaching children folk songs and honing her skills in bluegrass and roots music.

Her debut album, "Moon in the Mirror," released in 2019, revealed her truth and resilience through folk-infused tracks. Rainy's music often reflects her personal experiences, including the joy of motherhood and the pain of a troubled relationship. Her latest album, "Lonesome Highway," released in 2023, showcases her perseverance and perspective, marking a resilient return to the music scene. The album was written over a ten-year period and is filled with songs that helped her heal and grow stronger.

Currently residing in Louisiana, Rainy Eyes continues to captivate audiences with her spellbinding performances and timeless music. She is set to release a collection of original and traditional folk songs for children, titled "Little Folkies," later this year. Rainy's journey from Norway to the United States and her dedication to music have solidified her place as a compelling and inspiring artist in the Americana genre.
