Rianne Downey
Singer-Songwriter
Rianne Downey is a Scottish singer-songwriter who started her musical journey by busking on the streets of Glasgow. She has since gained a loyal fanbase through her online streams and covers, as well as her original songs that blend indie, country-pop, and folk influences. Her debut single, Fuel to the Flame, was released in February 2021 and received more than 3,000 streams on the first day.
She has also performed at various festivals and events, such as TRNSMT, The Isle of Wight Festival, and Neighbourhood Festival, and supported artists like Paolo Nutini and The Snuts. She is currently based in Liverpool, where she works with producer Rich Turvey and a band of talented musicians.
One of the influences that shaped Rianne Downey’s musical style is country music, especially from the legends like Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline. She grew up listening to their songs and admiring their storytelling abilities, as well as their distinctive voices and melodies. She also incorporates elements of country music into her own songs, such as the use of acoustic guitar, harmonica, and pedal steel.
