Ron Pope
Singer-Songwriter
Ron Pope, an American singer-songwriter and producer, hails from Marietta, Georgia. He began his musical journey playing guitar at a young age, which eventually led him to pursue his passion for music at New York University after a career-ending injury in baseball. His soulful combination of pop melodies, bluesy guitar riffs, and folksy grit earned him comparisons to legends like Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon. With his raw, heartfelt lyrics and velvety voice, Pope's music resonates deeply with fans of Americana and roots music.
Pope's breakout hit, "A Drop in the Ocean," released in 2008, quickly gained traction online and was featured in popular TV shows such as The Vampire Diaries and So You Think You Can Dance. After gaining initial recognition, Pope formed the band The District with his college friends. The group enjoyed success, selling out popular venues and recording multiple albums. However, Pope's desire to explore new sounds and push his creative boundaries led him to pursue a solo career.
Today, Pope continues to captivate audiences as an independent artist under his own label, Brooklyn Basement Records, which he co-founded with his wife, Blair Clark. His music consistently delivers powerful storytelling and emotional depth, making him a beloved figure in the country and Americana music scenes. With hits like "One Grain of Sand" and "Lick My Wounds," Pope's authentic and soulful approach keeps fans eagerly anticipating every new release.
