Sam Williams

Singer-Songwriter

Sam Williams, the grandson of country music pioneer Hank Williams and the son of outlaw legend Hank Williams Jr., is carving out his own unique path in the music industry. Born in 1997 in New Braunfels, Texas, and raised in Paris, Tennessee, Sam grew up surrounded by the legacy of his family's musical heritage. Despite this, he didn't initially pursue music, choosing instead to find his own voice and style. His debut album, "Glasshouse Children," released in 2021, showcases his ability to blend gut-wrenching honesty with plainspoken poetics, earning critical acclaim from outlets like Rolling Stone and Music Row.

Sam's music is characterized by its raw vulnerability and deep empathy, qualities that set him apart in the country music scene. He has performed at prestigious venues such as the Grand Ole Opry and major festivals like Nashville's CMA Fest and the UK's Country 2 Country Fest. His songs often reflect on personal and familial struggles, as seen in tracks like "Tilted Crown" and "Carnival Heart," the latter of which became the anthem for the country-themed show "Songblazers: A Journey Into Country Music". Sam's willingness to embrace modern sounds while staying true to his roots has allowed him to transcend the expectations placed upon him by his famous lineage.

From 2023, Sam continued to build on his success with a series of powerful singles and the release of "Act I: Scarlet Lonesome". His music not only honors the legacy of his grandfather and father but also pushes the boundaries of traditional country music by incorporating influences from hip-hop and R&B. As he continues to evolve as an artist, Sam Williams is proving that he is more than just a member of a legendary family; he is a compelling and original voice in his own right.
