The Handsome Family is an American music duo that consists of husband and wife Brett and Rennie Sparks. They formed the band in Chicago in 1993 and moved to Albuquerque in 2001. They are known for their unique blend of gothic country, alternative country, and folk music, as well as their dark and poetic lyrics.
They have released 11 studio albums, including Singing Bones (2003), which featured the song "Far from Any Road" that was used as the theme song for the first season of the TV series True Detective.
