Thomas Rhett is a country music singer and songwriter from the United States. He is the oldest son of singer Rhett Akins, and he grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. He started playing guitar and writing songs in college, and he moved to Hawaii for a while before pursuing his musical career in Nashville. He signed a publishing deal with songwriter and producer Brett James, who helped him land a record deal with Big Machine Records' Valory Music imprint in 2008.
Rhett has released six studio albums: It Goes Like This (2013), Tangled Up (2015), Life Changes (2017), Center Point Road (2019), Country Again: Side A (2021) and Where We Started (2022). He has received four Grammy Award nominations, including two for Best Country Album. His albums have produced 21 singles on the Billboard Hot Country and Country Airplay charts, with 17 reaching the No. 1 position. Some of his most popular songs are "Die a Happy Man", "Craving You", "Marry Me", "Look What God Gave Her", and "What's Your Country Song". He is known for his distinctive voice, catchy melodies, and relatable lyrics. He is also praised for his humble and down-to-earth personality.
