Villagers are an Irish band from Dublin, led by the singer-songwriter Conor J O'Brien. The band was formed in 2008, after the break-up of O'Brien's previous band The Immediate. Villagers have released five studio albums, all of which have received critical acclaim and several awards and nominations.
Villagers' music is characterized by O'Brien's distinctive voice, poetic lyrics, and rich arrangements. The band draws inspiration from various genres, including country, folk, rock, and electronica. Some of their songs feature instruments such as banjo, pedal steel guitar, and harmonica, creating a country music vibe.
Villagers have toured extensively around the world, supporting artists such as Neil Young, Tracy Chapman, and Bell X1. They have also performed at many festivals, such as Oxegen, Electric Picnic, Latitude, and All Together Now.
