Get ready to dive into the exciting world of Rodeos BBQ Birmingham, opening on July 4th, where sizzling flavours meet the unmistakable energy of Nashville-inspired honky-tonk vibes. This latest venture from Rodeos Wolverhampton promises an authentic country escape that sets the stage for unforgettable live music, deliciously expanded menus, and a unique atmosphere filled with BBQ and country cocktails. Combining the charm of ‘front porch’ summer seating with the thrill of an eclectic lineup of artists, Rodeos BBQ Birmingham is poised to redefine the country scene in the UK, creating a destination where every visit feels like a celebration.
The Sheriff (aka Simon Parton), the driving force behind the Rodeos brand, shares his journey and the excitement surrounding this latest venture, promising that it’ll be like nothing the UK has seen before.
“I’ve always been a hard-working lad with a passion to be successful,” shares The Sheriff. His background in property development saw him building hundreds of houses, apartments, and commercial spaces. But it was his love for BBQ and a good time that truly set him on this path. “I spent so many weekends entertaining friends and family at home, even building a stage in my garden for live music and BBQ. It was all about everyone having just the best time.”

That backyard passion transformed into the first Rodeos BBQ Wolverhampton—a restaurant that quickly became a local treasure. Within just 12 months, it was so popular that customers urged The Sheriff to find a bigger venue. “That led us to Rodeos BBQ Wolverhampton in an iconic Grade II-listed building. It’s steeped in history, sitting directly over the Birmingham & Wolverhampton Canal, and still showcases incredible features like working wheels and pull chains. It’s a sight to see and a story to tell.”
Creating Rodeos wasn’t without challenges. During the 2022 lockdown, The Sheriff locked himself inside Canal Wharf with two builders and no formal plans. “We built Rodeos from scratch using only months of research, visits to BBQ joints, and a love for country music. It was about putting my own spin on everything.”

When Rodeos BBQ Wolverhampton went viral on TikTok, the response was overwhelming. “Overnight, we had national recognition. We’re sold out every weekend, and artists from all over the world call us weekly to play at our bar. Being named the best Honky Tonk in the UK by WSM Nashville was an honour,” he says proudly.
However, he remains committed to preserving the personal touch. “I’ve been approached numerous times to franchise, but I don’t want Rodeos to lose the character and heart we bring.” After scouting for the perfect location, Birmingham proved to be the answer. “Birmingham seemed ideal. This building is iconic, with amazing grounds featuring a lake. It’s the perfect setting to progress our business.”

And Rodeos BBQ Birmingham isn’t just an extension—it’s a whole new experience. “If everyone loves Rodeos, just wait till you see my plans for Birmingham—they’re literally insane! Fresh back from Nashville, I’ve met with bars on Broadway and have brought some special features for the UK country scene.” The new venue will have many new features he adds: “It’s important they are not identical, as I believe this way customers will want to visit both for that unique country experience.”
The venue promises outdoor seating on its front porch for summer days, BBQ, country cocktails, and yearly summer festivals in the scenic grounds. The Sheriff is enthusiastic: “We’ll have live music up to four times a week, and Saturday afternoons will bring those Nashville vibes each weekend.”
The expanded food and drinks menu will offer exciting new options, alongside fan favourites. “Our opening month is full of awesome country music acts, and August looks just as great,” he teases. “We’ve got some huge international artists lined up—they’re going to be massive.”

And let’s not forget the Rodeos “Bull Ring”—a tribute to Birmingham’s roots. “We do need help naming our bull though,” The Sheriff laughs.
Fans of the Sheriff and his ventures may already be familiar with his work through the Keep It Country Festival, an annual celebration that highlights the best of country music, including emerging UK artists. You can read more about it on Countrymusic.co.uk’s exclusive interview here. The festival, set for 24-26 October 2025 in London, Wolverhampton and Newcastle, reflects the same passion for music, storytelling, and connection that Rodeos BBQ embodies.
With plans coming together right up to the last minute, July 4th will be a BBQ and country music spectacle. “We believe we were the first authentic Honky Tonk in the UK,” says The Sheriff. “We’re proud to bring over Nashville artists and to promote up-and-coming UK country stars as they start their journey.”
So dust off those cowboy boots, mark your calendars, and get ready—Rodeos BBQ Birmingham is about to deliver an unforgettable slice of country magic.
