Country music superstar Garth Brooks has announced a major return to Ireland in 2027, with ten concerts across five cities during May and June. The newly revealed Garth Brooks Irish Tour 2027 will visit Belfast, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick and Cork, marking his first Irish performances since his historic five-night residency at Dublin’s Croke Park in September 2022.
The announcement is particularly significant for Irish country music fans, with Brooks choosing to take his spectacular live show around the island rather than returning exclusively to Dublin. Each of the five cities will host two concerts, creating one of the biggest country music touring events Ireland has seen.
Sharing the news on social media, an excited Brooks declared: “IRELAND …The secret’s out … And I could NOT be happier!” He also encouraged fans to travel between the cities, adding: “Come to one!!! Come to ALL 5!!!”

A Special Relationship with Ireland
Few international country music stars have developed a relationship with Irish audiences quite like Garth Brooks. The Oklahoma-born singer, who has Irish ancestry through his mother, Colleen Carroll, has enjoyed an extraordinary following in Ireland for more than three decades.
His first Irish performances at Dublin’s Point Depot in 1994 helped establish a connection that would grow into something remarkable. By 1997, Brooks was filling Croke Park, bringing country music to stadium audiences on a scale rarely seen outside the United States.
That relationship was tested in 2014 when plans for five concerts at Croke Park collapsed following a dispute over the number of performances permitted at the venue. All five concerts were ultimately cancelled, disappointing hundreds of thousands of fans who had hoped to see their hero return.
It would take another eight years for Brooks to fulfil that ambition. In September 2022, he finally returned to Croke Park for five sold-out concerts, attracting approximately 400,000 fans across the residency. The performances became one of the defining live music events of the year in Ireland and an emotional homecoming for an artist who has never hidden his affection for the country.

The 2027 announcement opens a new chapter in that relationship. Rather than asking fans from across Ireland to travel to Dublin, Brooks is bringing his music to five different cities, including major outdoor venues in the west, south and Northern Ireland.
Bringing Country Music to the Masses
Garth Brooks remains one of the most successful recording artists in American music history, with a career that helped transform country music into a global stadium phenomenon.
Emerging in the late 1980s, he combined traditional country storytelling with the energy of rock music, creating a sound that appealed to audiences far beyond the genre’s established following.

His catalogue includes some of country music’s most recognisable songs, including Friends in Low Places, The Dance, If Tomorrow Never Comes, The Thunder Rolls, Unanswered Prayers and Callin’ Baton Rouge.
Yet it is perhaps his live performances that have defined his remarkable career. Known for his boundless energy, spontaneous audience interaction and ability to create an intimate atmosphere in enormous venues, Brooks has consistently demonstrated that country music can command the world’s biggest stages.
His popularity in Ireland also reflects the country’s longstanding love affair with country music. From traditional Irish country performers to contemporary Nashville stars, the genre has maintained a loyal audience across generations, and Brooks has played a major role in bringing American country music to mainstream Irish audiences.
A Different Kind of Irish Homecoming
While the 2022 Croke Park concerts were centred on one iconic venue, the 2027 tour represents something different. Five cities, ten concerts and a month-long journey around Ireland will give fans across the island the chance to experience a full-scale Garth Brooks production closer to home.
The decision to include Belfast, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick and Cork also creates the prospect of fans travelling between cities to attend multiple performances, something Brooks himself enthusiastically encouraged in his announcement.
For British country music fans, the Belfast concerts on 21 and 22 May will provide an especially appealing opportunity to see one of the genre’s biggest names, while the remaining Irish dates offer the chance to combine a concert with a weekend away.
With memories of the extraordinary Croke Park residency still fresh, anticipation for the 2027 concerts is likely to be considerable. And if his previous Irish appearances are anything to go by, audiences can expect plenty of emotion, enormous singalongs and a celebration of a musical relationship unlike almost any other.
Tickets for all ten Garth Brooks Irish Tour 2027 concerts go on sale at 8am local time on Thursday 12 November 2026.
