A Different Thread – Over Again UK Tour 2026
A Different Thread, the transatlantic Americana duo featuring North Carolina’s Alicia Best and British musician Robert Jackson, returns to the UK with their Over Again UK Tour 2026. After a year away, this tour marks an exciting comeback, bringing their blend of American roots, Appalachian blues, alt-country and British folk-rock to audiences across the country.
The band first formed from a serendipitous meeting while busking on the streets of Ireland, which blossomed into both a musical collaboration and a personal partnership. Their sound is characterised by close, haunting harmonies and deeply story-driven songwriting, enriched by the acoustic interplay of guitar, fiddle, harmonica and percussion.
The centerpiece of this tour is their third studio album, Over Again, released in May 2026. This album reflects their journey of reunion and personal transformation, exploring themes of resilience, grief, and new beginnings with a hopeful undertone. Its title track notably won the Folk/Americana category at the International Acoustic Music Awards, underscoring the duo’s growing acclaim. Their music captures a sincere fusion of influences either side of the Atlantic, and their live set flows naturally from intimate ballads to lively Americana tunes inviting audience participation.
Joining them on stage on this tour is double bassist Mike Seal, adding rich depth to their dynamic sound. As A Different Thread sweeps through UK towns and cities, they invite fans to “come sing away the blues” with them, offering a heartfelt and authentic live experience.
