A Different Thread – Over Again UK Tour 2026

The A Different Thread – Over Again UK Tour 2026 marks a significant return to the UK stage for the acclaimed transatlantic Americana duo, A Different Thread. Formed through the serendipitous meeting of North Carolina’s Alicia Best and UK-born Robert Jackson while busking in Ireland, the duo weave together the rich tapestry of American roots music and British folk-rock traditions. Their sound is a heartfelt blend of Appalachian blues, alt-country, and British folk, underpinned by close harmonies and storytelling that invites listeners into intimate and expansive narratives alike.

The tour supports their latest album, Over Again, released in May 2026. This third studio album explores themes of resilience, grief, change, and new beginnings—deeply personal yet resonant stories shaped by their journey of reunion after years of geographic separation. The album’s title track notably won the Folk/Americana category at the 2026 International Acoustic Music Awards, reflecting the duo’s growing recognition on the international stage.

Live performances from A Different Thread are known for their organic roots-focused arrangements featuring acoustic guitar, fiddle, harmonica, and percussion. Their shows are dynamic experiences that shift gracefully from quiet, reflective storytelling to rousing Americana with foot-stomping rhythms and audience singalongs. Joined on this tour by Birmingham double bassist Mike Seal, also featured on the album, the duo continues to build their reputation for authentic, soulful shows deeply rooted in both personal and social storytelling.

Fans of artists blending Americana with folk-rock sensibilities, such as The Civil Wars or The Milk Carton Kids, will find a compelling affinity in A Different Thread’s rich vocal harmonies and thoughtful songwriting.
