Hosted by Katy Hurt at the intimate Thornton Hough Village Club, this tour stop offers an authentic experience where storytelling and songcraft take centre stage. The event encapsulates a night dedicated to good stories, good songs, and good company, embodying the spirit of Nashville’s heart transplanted to the Wirral.
Leading the lineup is Robert Vincent, the award-winning English singer-songwriter whose work has been described as a blend of country, blues, and classic 1970s English influences. Hailing from Crosby near Liverpool, Robert has garnered acclaim for his honest lyrics and distinctive voice, earning labels like "the scouse Springsteen" from Q magazine’s editor. His latest single, The Insider, released in October 2023, explores themes of trust in modern times and features a video starring renowned actor David Morrissey, reflecting Vincent's depth as a contemporary storyteller.
Supporting Robert is Simon Howard, a contemporary country/folk artist with a heart-wrenching vocal style and a knack for delicate storytelling. Having honed his craft both at home and during a writing stint in Austin, Texas, Simon’s music has received attention on BBC Introducing and other platforms. His latest single captures the essence of being lost and finding one’s way back, resonating deeply with listeners.
Susannah Clegg brings a voice full of tender grit and lyrical grace, firmly placing her among the UK’s rising country stars. Her sound is an appealing fusion of traditional country roots and a modern sensibility, inviting comparisons to artists like Kacey Musgraves and Brandi Carlile. Her storytelling is enriched with Northern charm that bridges the Atlantic with ease.
Katy Hurt, the event’s host, is a standout in the UK country scene, known for her award-winning vocal talent and successful festival performances including Country 2 Country and the Isle of Wight Festival. Her recent single Rather Be, co-written with Gab Zsapka and produced by Juno Award-winning Murray Pulver, shows her fiery and passionate songwriting style.
