The Long Ryders - UK Tour 2026
The Long Ryders, pioneers of the alternative country movement, bring their distinctive fusion of punk rock, country, and folk to The Piper in Saint Leonards-on-sea as part of their UK Tour 2026. Formed in Los Angeles in 1981, the band developed a sound characterised by jangly guitars and harmonious vocals reminiscent of The Byrds, all driven by an energetic rock ‘n’ roll rhythm. Their debut album, Native Sons, marked them as significant contributors to the Paisley Underground scene and has influenced countless alt-country artists since.
After reuniting in 2016, The Long Ryders have continued to create vibrant music, with their latest studio album, High Noon Hymns, released in March 2026. Produced by Ed Stasium, known for his work with The Ramones, the album features guest musicians Murry Hammond from The Old 97s and DJ Bonebrake of X, showcasing the band’s enduring connections within the American roots and punk communities. Their live performances remain charged with the dynamic energy that has defined their career.
