A Festival for All: Country Calling’s Unique Country Music Experience

In a celebration of both local and international country music talent, the Country Calling Music Festival is set to become one of the most anticipated events on the UK’s country music calendar. We sat down with Carl Miller, the visionary behind this new festival, to learn more about its origins, unique offerings, and what attendees can expect.

A Dream Realised

Carl Miller’s journey to organising the Country Calling Music Festival is deeply rooted in his early experiences. “It’s been an idea in the making for a long time,” he shares. “As a child, my grandparents would take me to country and western nights featuring live bands at the local working men’s club – experiences that truly planted the seed for my love of country music.” Having followed both the grassroots and international country scenes for many years, Miller always dreamed of producing such an event. With a decade of successful event promotion under their belt, the team behind Country Calling is ready to offer a complete, inclusive festival experience. “The time is ripe to bring this brand-new experience to the market,” Miller adds.

A Unique Festival Experience

What sets Country Calling apart from other festivals is its focus on showcasing both home-grown talent and international headliners. “Essex, the heart and soul of our events, boasts an incredible live country scene,” Miller explains. Country Calling is a festival for everyone – whether you are a seasoned country festival-goer or a family looking for a fun-filled day out.” By intentionally limiting the festival’s capacity, they ensure a memorable and exclusive experience for all attendees. “We remain true to our boutique country roots by intentionally limiting the festival’s capacity,” Miller says, “ensuring a memorable and exclusive experience for all.”

Star-Studded Line-Up

The festival’s line-up is nothing short of impressive. On Saturday night, country pop sensation Kaylee Bell, known for her viral hit “Keith” (about Keith Urban) and her high-profile stint touring with Ed Sheeran, will take the stage as the headliner. Sunday night will feature rising star Dillon Carmichael, celebrated for his chart-topping single “Drinkin’ Problems” and hailed as one of modern country music’s most promising talents. Both artists promise to deliver unforgettable performances. “For us, it’s all about showcasing home-grown talent alongside international headliners rarely seen in the UK. We’ve carefully curated an impressive line-up,” Miller notes, “promising unforgettable performances.”

Family-Friendly and Inclusive

From the outset, the festival’s organizers aimed to create a welcoming and family-friendly environment. “We decided to limit the number of guests to ensure the festival retains its boutique charm and never feels overcrowded,” says Miller. In addition to multiple stages featuring live music, there are family-friendly activities such as line dancing lessons and a vintage steam fair, ensuring an engaging experience for all ages. Furthermore, the festival offers ample Blue Badge parking, dedicated entrances, viewing platforms, and accessible facilities throughout the venue to accommodate guests with accessibility needs. “Country Calling is a fully inclusive festival,” Miller states. There will be a shuttle service running from Chelmsford to Country Calling and back each day.

Meet and Greet Opportunities

For fans looking to get up close and personal with their favourite artists, the festival has arranged a series of meet-and-greet sessions. This allows attendees to interact with performers and gain deeper insights into their music and creative processes. “Fans can interact with their favourite performers and take part in exclusive Q&A sessions,” Miller confirms.

Culinary Delights

An array of food and drink options will be available throughout the weekend. “Quite simply, there will be an abundance of food and drink options available,” Miller states. With multiple bars serving a wide variety of beverages and numerous independent food traders offering diverse culinary delights, there is something to suit every taste.

As the fastest-growing music genre in the UK, country music has found a new home in the Country Calling Music Festival. With its unique blend of local and international talent, family-friendly atmosphere, and inclusive approach, this festival promises to be a memorable event for all country music enthusiasts.
