The Americana Music Association UK has revealed their list of award winners at the recent UK Americana Music Week which took place from 22nd-25th January 2024.
The Americana Music Association UK (AMA-UK) is a professional trade association representing and advocating for the voice of Americana music in the UK founded in 2012. Membership comprises musicians, both from the UK and overseas, plus individuals and organisations from all sectors of the music industry, including; agents, promoters, venues, festivals, labels, distributors, retailers, management, touring crew, journalists, broadcasters and publicists.
UK Americana Music Week 2024
A packed week of events in January 2024 saw members of the community come together to celebrate the music and community of Americana and Roots Music. The week kicked off with a party of course! In partnership with Sweet Home Alabama & Thirty Tigers, the event featured Jason Isbell’s seminal album Southeastern, and other fantastic music out of the Yellowhammer State. The following two days saw informative and interactive daytime panels and talks, followed by artist showcasing of 50+bands across 5 stages in Hackney, London. The week culminated in the annual UK Americana Awards, celebrating the very best of UK and International Americana talent.
UK Americana Awards
The nominated artists, songs and albums are the result of AMA-UK’s uniquely open and member-driven process. The entire membership is asked to nominate in each category, and then the board use that data as a guide to compile the final shortlist. The members then vote for their favourites to produce the winners.
