Two of the most listened to Country Music radio stations are joining forces from this month. As reported on www.countryline.radio:
TuneIn and CountryLine Radio have entered a deal with Garth Brooks’s station The BIG 615 which will see the UK country music station take on a new name. The partnership with Garth Brooks’ SEVENS Radio Network also means CountryLine co-founder Nathalie Cox joins The BIG 615’s schedule. CountryLine Radio, previously known as Chris Country, will become CountryLine: The BIG 615 from January, and will take extra content from the international online station in Nashville. In addition, Storme Warren’s show on The BIG 615 will expand on CountryLine: The BIG 615.

The BIG 615 is an online radio station from TuneIn, which launched in June 2023 in a partnership with Garth Brooks. 615 being the main area code for Nashville in the US. It’s available via streaming services with TuneIn installed.
Countryline Radio is also available on streaming services, but also on DAB+ in London and the South East.
Comment
Reading between the lines of the official announcement, it appears as though CountryLine Radio will be saying goodbye to some presenters and filling the schedule with content from USA-based BIG 615. It does however mean BIG 615 will reach more UK listeners, thanks to the DAB availability of the station and it’s existing listener base.
