Brown Horse
Country Rock Band
BROWN HORSE is a country rock band from Norwich, England. Rooted in a collaborative approach to songwriting, the six-piece blends guitar-driven 90s alternative rock with the folk and country sounds of the 70s. The band consists of Emma Tovell (vocals, guitar), Nyle Holihan (guitar, vocals), Patrick Turner (bass, vocals), Rowan Braham (drums), Ben Auld (keyboards) and Phoebe Troup (violin).
The band started as a folk quartet in 2018, playing old time standards, Michael Hurley covers and original songs in pubs across England. After a hiatus due to the pandemic, the band reunited in 2022 and expanded their lineup and sound, incorporating elements of 90s alternative rock and 70s country rock.
BROWN HORSE released their debut album, Reservoir, in 2023. The album was recorded at producer Ben Collins' home studio in Michigan and received positive reviews from critics and fans. The band has been touring extensively in the UK and Europe, and has also performed at SXSW 2024 in Austin, Texas.
