Jake Bugg is an English singer-songwriter known for his distinctive blend of indie rock, folk, and Americana. Emerging from Nottingham, he began his musical journey at the age of 12, drawing inspiration from legends like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Jimi Hendrix. His self-titled debut album, released in 2012, showcased his raw talent and earned him critical acclaim, including a nomination for the Mercury Prize. Over the years, Bugg has continued to evolve, releasing several albums that reflect his growth as an artist.
In 2024, Bugg released 'A Modern Day Distraction', an album that delved into themes of societal inequality and personal introspection. The deluxe edition, released in November 2025, featured new tracks like 'Oblivious', further solidifying his reputation as a poignant songwriter. Looking ahead, Bugg has announced his seventh studio album, 'Alamo', set for release on 13 November 2026. Produced by Jimmy Hogarth and Steve McKewan, 'Alamo' marks a return to his folk roots, with the lead single 'Never Can Tell' offering a glimpse into the album's introspective and raw themes. The album is available for pre-order on various platforms, including Spotify.
To support the upcoming album, Bugg has scheduled a solo tour across the UK and Ireland in early 2027. The tour will commence on 6 February 2027 at Manchester's Albert Hall and conclude on 26 February 2027 at London's Union Chapel. Tickets are available through his official website.
